How To Shrink A Shirt Without Fading: The Process Itself
What You Will Need: White vinegar, 1 bucket large enough to hold the shirt being shrunk, 1-2 pots for boiling water, salt, a wooden spoon or large metal utensil to stir things around in the pot with.
Step One: Turn your stove on and place one of the pots you have filled up with water on it. Place about ½ cup or more of salt in the pot so that when the water starts boiling you can add some vinegar to it. This will create a chemical reaction that enables our task at hand here folks- shrinking clothes!
Step Two: Add an ample amount of white vinegar into your container filled with boiling water from step one. You may not need all of this depending on how big/small the shirt is that is being worked on at this time. Step Three: Once you have poured in your vinegar into the pot place your wooden spoon/metal utensil into the mix and stir until well blended.
Step Four: Add in your white shrunken shirt (preferably one that is similar in colour to what you are working with here). Let it soak for about 15 minutes or so depending on if you want it slightly smaller or completely shrunken, yet still wearable.
Step Five: Turn off heat when bubbles stop forming when stirring around with utensil, remove the shirt from pot and rinse under cold water until water runs clear (this gets rid of any excess salt that might remain) then place back into the container with hot water and vinegar mixture. Soak for another 15 minutes or so depending on how shrunk you want it to be.
